Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and is situated off the west coast of Africa.  It is home to the highest mountain in Spain, Mount Teide.  Tenerife is famous for its all year round warm temperatures and good climate with very low rainfall and long sunny days, making it an ideal holiday destination at any time of the year.

There's a wide variety of bars, restaurants and shops all around the Las Vistas beach, and many more throughout both resorts.  A walk around the coast towards Las Americas will take you along the Geranium Walk, a newly built promenade, to more beaches.  You can also walk along the coast to Los Cristianos which is quieter than Playa de las Americas and still retains evidence of its fishing village origins.  Here you will find a small harbour, a wide curving sandy beach and the town centre is pedestrianised.

Compostela Beach is located in Playa de las Americas although it is a 15 minute walk to either the centre of Las Americas or Los Cristianos.  It is situated right on the best beach of the two resorts - the new Las Vistas beach.
